does dying crinkle plisse compromise the crinkle?
Nope!
Two weeks ago, I took it upon myself to prevent future headaches, by testing out my fabric dyes. Since a majority of my garments are created with some type of crinkle fabric, I was going to bed every night in fear of what would happen to my progress. I was terrified that the heat required to ombre dye these fabrics was going to kill the crinkle! Using leftover synthetic RIT dyes from our textile lab, I created some baby dye baths and dipped in poly chiffons and plisses. I’ve effectively proven to myself that I can ombre dye these polyesters with the synthetic RIT dyes, as well as creating a gradual ombre effect through the surface of the project.
